Is Cody Rhodes injured ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin 2024 match against Kevin Owens?

On the 8/30 SmackDown Kevin Owens revealed that Cody Rhodes might not be 100% for their match!

Cody Rhodes is all set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against his best friend Kevin Owens in a singles match at WWE Bash in Berlin. While Rhodes offered the title shot to Owens first, he regretted the offer saying that he didn’t earn a title shot and tried to decline the match. However, Cody explained how deserving Owens is and explained it to the SmackDown General Manager and made the match confirmed for Bash in Berlin, despite Owens’ wish.

Although both are set to square off at the Bash in Berlin PLE, both remain on the same page and their friendship didn’t change on the road. At this stage, WWE fans are concerned about Rhodes’ status for Bash in Berlin, after what happened on this week’s (August 30, 2024) SmackDown.

Is Cody Rhodes injured?

On the August 30, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens had their final face off before their match at Bash in Berlin. During the confrontation, The Prizefighter revealed that Cody is not 100% for the title match, saying that he has injured his knee during the live tour. Owens said that he doesn’t wanna face Rhodes, if he is 100%, but Rhodes stopped him claiming that his leg is rock solid and is ready for the match.

Cody asked if he was trying to remove himself from the match, just like what he did three weeks ago. Rhodes then questioned what happened last week and Owens’ history of betrayals. Owens again apologized to Kofi Kingston again and explained that he knew his father before him and there is no point in betraying him.

However he asked about Cody’s knee again as he doesn’t want to worsen his injury during their match and win the title. Cody again claimed that he was doing good, but Owens questioned why he didn’t do his signature entrance and bothered with the knee.

They then cooked some heated promo, where Cody claimed that Owens is angry on him as he took everyones spotlight upon return. Cody said that despite what happened between them at Bash in Berlin, he wanted to have Owens’ friendship after their match and asked Owens if he would be friends with him after the match. To which Owens dropped the mic and whispered in Cody’s ear to walk away from the ring.

Fightful Select following the promo verified that Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens’ match is still on, however there isn’t any information about Cody’s injury.
