Owens was set to battle Randy Orton, and the two stars were locked in a furious feud. Since his absence per reports, the Prizefighter has undergone successful neck surgery to repair the issues that forced him out of action. The surgery marks a major milestone in the former Universal Champion’s recovery from his spinal cord injury.
However, reports also noted that Owens is now recovering; he’s still likely to be out of action for an extended period, and there’s no certainty he’ll be able to return to WWE.

Fans had been hoping for the Canadian star to make his return during the January edition of SNME in Quebec, Canada, which would have been a fitting location. However, full recovery from such neck surgeries typically takes more than a year.
