Yes, tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown (November 01, 2024) is pre-taped. The promotion pre-taped the November 01, 2024 episode of SmackDown immediately following the October 25th edition of SmackDown in Brooklyn, New York last week.
Due to the upcoming Crown Jewel 2024 PLE, the majority of WWE stars will travel to Saudi Arabia on Friday. As a result, the promotion pre-taped this week’s episode at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center right after the 10/25 episode went off air.

What can fans expect from WWE SmackDown tonight?
Fans tuning in tonight can expect a packed show filled with key developments and thrilling matchups. The SmackDown show will feature storylines that will culminate at the Saudi event this week.
In the Crown Jewel 2024, Go-home show tonight Iyo Sky from Damage CTRL will face Bianca Belair, Lash Legend, and Piper Niven in a Fatal 4 Way match. One-half of each competing team will face each other before their clash at Crown Jewel 2024 in the fatal 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Ahead of their ‘Champion vs Champion’ match Nia Jax and Liv Morgan will come face to face to cut a promo for their clash at Crown Jewel PLE. Given the history of the two champs, the face-off might lead to a physical altercation.
During last week’s episode of SmackDown, a match between Bayley and Naomi’s team, Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell was scheduled for this week’s episode. This decision came as Hartwell interfered in the matchup between Noami and LeRae.
Furthermore, the show will also feature one of the biggest storylines in the promotion currently of the reunification of the OG Bloodline. Last week The Usos reunited during MCMG’s match against Bloodline 2.0 (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) for the tag team titles.
The OG Bloodline which consists of Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, and Jimmy Uso will likely cut a promo for their scheduled bout against Sikoa and faction at the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE.
In the main event of the episode, the team of Randy Orton and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face the WWE Heavyweight Champion Gunther and Ludvig Kaiser from the Imperium faction.
This match was set up after Rhodes and Gunther‘s face-off last week turned violent. The American Nightmare was attacked by Gunther and Kaiser, and Orton came to his aid. The match would be utilized in the storyline of the two champions clashing at the Saudi PLE.
Rhodes and Gunther are scheduled for a match at the Crown Jewel 2024 for the inaugural Crown Jewel title this week. Orton on the other hand is scheduled for a grudge match with former friend Kevin Owens at the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE.
Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown promises to be one you don’t want to miss as WWE builds toward the highly anticipated 2024 Crown Jewel event.
