Zilla Fatu has been a top prospect from the Anoa’i family on the independent circuit.
The historic lineage of the Anoa’i family in the world of professional wrestling is known to every wrestling fan in the world. For years, the family has given countless legends and Hall of Famers to the business, namely, Yokozuna, Rikishi, Wild Samoans, Haku and perhaps, one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time, The Rock.
The modern era of WWE also has some of the most compelling superstars from the Anoa’i family such as The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. The most prominent star out of all of them is the OTC, Roman Reigns.
With the rich lineage of The Bloodline dominating the WWE landscape to this date, another hot prospect from their family is making a name for himself outside the big leagues, Zilla Fatu. The son of the late WWE legend Umaga has emerged as a captivating and dominant singles star in the indies under the tutelage of WWE Hall of Famer Booker T in his promotion, Reality of Wrestling.
Is Zilla Fatu heading for the big leagues?
Alongside his stint in Reality of Wrestling, Zilla Fatu has been wrestling for other indie promotions, winning multiple championships and emerging as a hot commodity in the world of professional wrestling. Most recently, GCW announced that Zilla Fatu would not be appearing in any more shows following certain no-show incidents.
This began speculations that it could be time for Zilla Fatu to head toward the landscape dominated by his family, WWE, with Fatu himself dropping hints on social media. However, a new report by Fightful Select states that Zilla Fatu is heading towards WWE‘s rival promotion, AEW.
This comes as a surprise, considering every new member of the Bloodline has joined WWE in 2024, and Zilla was expected to do the same. While no official confirmation has been made regarding Zilla Fatu’s future plans, the rumor about him joining AEW has caused a massive buzz in the entire wrestling world.
So it remains to be seen whether Zilla Fatu decides to explore his own path or join his family in the global juggernaut.
