‘The Yeetman’ won his first singles title in 2024
In a recent interview, Jey Uso has made it clear that he is determined to win the World Championship. As one-half of one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, alongside his brother Jimmy, Jey has already established his legacy. However, after an impressive breakout singles run in late 2023 and a successful 2024, Jey is now focused on new challenges ahead.
During an interview with Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat podcast at ComplexCon, Jey discussed his journey thus far. A significant milestone in his career occurred on the September 23 episode of WWE RAW, where Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, marking his first singles title.
“Yeah man, it just puts a stamp on you,” Jey said. “If you’re a wrestler, you want to hold a damn WWE Championship one time, a World Heavyweight Championship one time. I want to hold that shit. I ain’t ever thought about being a champion like that until I got the IC Title Man, until ‘24 popped off the way it did, it built my confidence. It made me believe, hell yeah, I could be the face, Uce.”
The reign as Intercontinental Champion has undoubtedly fueled Jey’s ambitions, giving him the confidence to envision himself at the top of the WWE. His determination to secure a world title remains unwavering, and he’s not shy about expressing it.
“Yeah, I want the title. I’ll take it off of anybody, just give me the shot,” Jey declared. “Gunther, whoever it is, Cody Rhodes, we can run it. I’m telling you, I’m gonna get the big one. No one believes that, just like they doubted me the whole time. It’s all good, I’m used to that. It’s just fuel to the fire. But I’m gonna get that, I’m gonna get it. I’m putting it out there right now.”
Jey’s belief in himself is evident, and his fans share in that excitement. From his iconic battles as part of The Usos to his rise as a standout singles competitor, Jey Uso has consistently demonstrated that he excels under pressure.
As Jey prepares to compete in the Men’s WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series 2024 PLE, one thing is clear—his sights are set on becoming a world champion. The WWE Universe may be witnessing the beginning of Jey Uso’s ultimate ascension to the top.
