Jinder Mahal is the current Stu Hart Heritage Champion
After leaving the Stamford-based promotion, the Modern Day Maharaja returned to the independent circuit. Mahal now performs under the ring name ‘Raj Dhesi,’ which he used during his early years in professional wrestling.
Mahal is the current Stu Hart Heritage Champion which he won recently on November 10 against Chris Masters at the Dungeon Wrestling November Pain event at Victoria Pavilion in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
During his recent conversation with former WWE star Maven Huffman on his YouTube channel, Raj Dhesi (aka Jinder Mahal) discussed the long-standing secret behind WWE’s infamous under-ring escapes.
“When we’re in a commercial break, in this case, it is a PPV, so maybe when there is a video package playing, all the lights in the arena go dark. Throughout the night, the ring crew is coming out to change something, generally you can sneak under there without anybody noticing. I’ve done that a bunch of times.
Underneath the ring, it is called a bed. There is a little mat there, and there is a gentleman by the name of Nick Daw who is under there with a monitor. They have got water bottles down there, they’ve got diet Cokes, Red Bulls. So you have your bed, you’ve got your monitor, and Nick actually has a headset to the producers.” Mahal stated.
The Modern Day Maharaja also explained how the wrestlers get the timing right and the amenities they get during the break underneath the ring.
