John Cena will kick off his retirement tour next month
The 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena is set to kick off his retirement tour next month on the debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The debut episode is set for January 6 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, U.S.A.
Cena revealed his plans to retire from in-ring competition at the end of 2025 during Money in the Bank 2024 PLE. The 16-time World Champion would retire from in-ring action at the end of 2025. Ahead of his scheduled retirement tour, the promotion revealed that Cena will work full-time in 2025.
During a recent appearance on The Sports Media Podcast, WWE EVP Chris Legentil revealed that the G.O.A.T of pro wrestling will go out on his own term as he will do a full year-long tour with the promotion next year before hanging up his wrestling boots.
“John Cena, as you might know, is going on his farewell tour. He announced last July that he’s retiring. But he’s going out on his own terms. He’s gonna do a full year-long tour with us. And that’s gonna be worldwide. We think that the opportunity for the people to see John Cena one last time all around the world is going to be quite powerful.” Legentil said.
Logan Paul made his return this week during WWE Raw On Netflix Kick-off Event
Former United States Champion, Logan Paul made his highly awaited return during the WWE Raw On Netflix Kick-off Event on Thursday. The Red brand’s General Manager Adam Pearce announced him as the newest member of the Raw roster during his appearance.
Paul has been absent from WWE programming since SummerSlam 2024 PLE where he lost the US title in a fierce clash against LA Knight. Paul initially claimed that he has retired from pro wrestling during an episode of his ‘Impaulsive Podcast’.
Following Paul’s return it now seems that the former US Champion will have the opportunity to be part of Cena’s retirement tour in 2025.
According to a recent report by Viper of PW Nexus, John Cena is expected to face the former United States Champion in a big PLE (Premium Live Event), which could turn out to be at WrestleMania 41. However, nothing has been confirmed by the promotion yet.
The report also adds that the former US Champion is interested in the matchup against the 16-time champion.
“I expect the match to happen in 2025, I know Logan wants it. Multiple PLE’s in the year where this match could feature, of course WM is an option – but this is NOT considered locked in to be taking place in Vegas as of today. Cena vs. Gunther WHC is still my personal preference.” Viper revealed.
