R-Truth battled his childhood hero at Saturday Night’s Main Event!
The current Undisputed WWE Champion, John Cena, is currently embarking on his farewell tour and is set to hang up his wrestling boots at the end of 2025. He kicked off the tour and vowed to win the Undisputed title, breaking the tie with Ric Flair to become the one and only 17-time WWE World Champion.
Cena created history when he pinned Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41 as he broke the tie and became the 17-time WWE World Champion, cementing himself as the ‘G.O.A.T.’ of pro-wrestling.
Cena then defended the title for the first time against his career-long rival, Randy Orton, in his backyard, St. Louis, at Backlash 2025. Just when it looked like Cena was going to lose and get punt kicked in the head, R-Truth, who considers Cena his “childhood hero,” came in to save his idol.
However, Cena repaid him by putting him through a table during the post-show press conference; this act of zero remorse has pitted the two stars against one another. R-Truth battled his childhood hero in a non-title match at the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Here is a head-to-head record of Cena vs Truth in the WWE.
