‘The Leader of the Cenation’ will retire in 2025
16-time WWE World Champion John Cena has one of the most impressive resumes in the Stamford-based promotion. The iconic feuds, title wins, matches, and some devastating losses have shaped not just Cena’s career but the trajectory of the WWE.
The Cenation Leader has transitioned successfully into acting and has made a name for himself in Hollywood. However, he has returned to the Stamford-based promotion to achieve the goal of breaking the tie with Ric Flair and becoming the 17-time WWE World Champion.
In his return on the Monday Night Raw debut on Netflix, Cena also announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble match. This would be the last Rumble match of his career as he will hang up his wrestling boots at the end of 2025.
The Cenation Leader made his Royal Rumble debut in 2003, entering the fray at number 18. However, his initial foray into the Rumble match, as well as the two consecutive matches that followed, were relatively unremarkable.
In fact, Cena failed to record a single elimination in his first two Rumble appearances. It wasn’t until 2005 that he finally broke through, eliminating three participants and marking a turning point in his Rumble career.
The 16-time WWE World Champion first showcased his merit at the Madison Square Garden where the 2008 Rumble PLE was held. Cena was sidelined ahead of the PLE due to an injury but he not only made a return but went on to win the match.
Let us now take a look at John Cena’s Royal Rumble accolades which include wins, eliminations, appearances, and many more.
