Major update on Kairi Sane’s injury status after 9/2 WWE Raw

Kairi Sane was accidentally injured during the 9/2 episode of Raw and here is an update on her injury!

Kairi Sane is one of the most talented high-flying female professional wrestlers in the active WWE, she is currently working on the Raw brand as a member of Damage CTRL and has been competing in the tag team division.

She currently teams up with fellow Japanese star and Damage CTRL member Iyo Sky and is in a pursuit to become the tag team champions again. However, it is reported that Kairi Sane got injured during the 9/2 episode of WWE RAW and here we take a look at her injury status.

Kairi Sane injury update

On the September 02, 2024, episode of Monday Night Raw, Kairi Sane & Iyo Sky of Damage CTRL faced Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn of The Unholy Union in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders match.

The new WWE Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill were on the ringside to spectate the match to find out their potential opponents. The match went in favor of Damage CTRL, however, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn managed to win the match and become the rightful contenders for the title. 

During the match, Kairi Sane sent Isla Dawn outside the ring and tried for an insane elbow from the top rope, however, Isla Dawn pulled Bianca Belair in to receive the elbow. While performing the move, Kairi accidentally bumped her head into the announcement table. After which Kairi no longer came to the ring to continue the match, which made Fyre and Dawn pick up the win using the double team maneuver. After the match, Kairi and Iyo yelled at Belair and Cargill and Kairi showed her face, which was busted with her eyes open.

After the horrible accidental bump, PWInsider reported that they have heard from the sources that the Pirate Princess received multiple stitches on the eyelid backstage after the match, from the WWE’s medical team. There is no update on whether Kairi suffered any other major injuries beyond the busted eyelid & her in-ring status for the upcoming events is unknown yet.

She is not the only Damage CTRL member who is currently injured. In May 2024, Asuka injured her leg and went on a leg surgery, which took her away from WWE TV. On the other hand, Dakota Kai was written off from WWE in August 2024 due to multiple knee injuries.
