Becky Lynch didn’t stay the nice guy for long. After making a surprise return at WrestleMania 41, ‘The Man’ pulled off one of the most talked-about heel turns on Raw after WrestleMania and apparently, it was all her idea. So, here’s what went down.

Becky came back on night two of WrestleMania 41 to replace Bayley, who had been taken out backstage as Lyra Valkyria’s tag team partner. The two shocked everyone by winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. But hold on, the celebration didn’t last. Less than 24 hours later, on Raw, Becky and Lyra dropped the titles to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. And right after the match? Boom! Becky turned on Lyra.

Fans were stunned, but it turns out this twist was planned all along by none other than Becky herself. Bryan Alvarez shared the scoop on Wrestling Observer Live and said, “This whole thing was Becky’s idea. It was all Becky’s idea. I heard about it in advance. ‘Becky wants to come back, she wants to win the title, then turn on Lyra the next night.’”

Even Alvarez didn’t buy it at first. “When I heard it, I was like, ‘What? This is an absolutely horrible idea.’” But social media told a different story. Fans were cheering Becky like always… until the ‘Becky Hogan’ memes started rolling in. Yikes.

Originally, it seemed like Becky Lynch would turn heel while still holding the tag titles, maybe even vacating them after the betrayal. But losing the titles and turning right after? That hit different and it worked. “This all worked out perfect for a heel turn,” Alvarez added. “It didn’t for the Raw after WrestleMania, but she’ll be a heel next week.”

There were even talks months ago of a totally different plan for Becky. The early idea had her returning around the Royal Rumble and teaming up with Charlotte Flair again. That reunion would’ve led to a WrestleMania tag match against IYO SKY and Asuka.

Clearly, plans changed. And it looks like Becky took control of her own story. From a WrestleMania comeback to a title win and a cold-blooded betrayal the very next night, Becky’s back in full force. And if this is how her heel arc begins, WWE fans are in for a wild ride.
