Roman Reigns was last seen on WWE RAW after WrestleMania 41

Roman Reigns’ absence has loomed large over WWE since Raw after WrestleMania 41, where the unthinkable happened — ‘The Tribal Chief’ was demolished.

In the main event of Night One, Reigns was cost a monumental triple threat match against Seth Rollins and CM Punk when longtime ally Paul Heyman shockingly turned on him.

That moment is arguably one of the most jaw-dropping betrayals in WrestleMania history as it helped Rollins walk out victorious while Reigns was left stunned and broken.

The fallout was immediate. The very next night on RAW after WrestleMania, Reigns stormed into the ring to retaliate, targeting Rollins and Heyman. But his revenge was cut short.

Just when it looked like Roman Reigns might strike back, former IC champion Bron Breakker made his surprise main roster debut, saving Rollins and aligning himself with Seth and Heyman officially introducing himself as part of their new stable, “The Trifecta of Terror”. Once again, Reigns was left outnumbered and outplayed.

Since then, speculation has run rampant about when Roman will return. According to recent reports, Reigns who had been active throughout late 2024 and early 2025, took a short break after the Royal Rumble and skipped Elimination Chamber to prepare for the WrestleMania showdown.

He returned at Madison Square Garden for a heated build with Punk and Rollins, culminating in the explosive main event at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Traditionally, Reigns takes time off following WrestleMania, and 2025 appears to be no different. Insider Joey Votes of WrestleVotes reported that Roman is not expected to appear at WWE Backlash in St. Louis on May 10. Votes said, Money in the Bank is possible, but he was unsure whether we could count on him for next weekend at WWE Backlash 2025.

However, Reigns’ absence isn’t expected to be long-term. With Money in the Bank set for June 7, one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, there is strong speculation he will be involved in some capacity. While it’s unlikely he’ll compete in the briefcase match itself, many expect Roman to return to build toward his next major feud.

Fans of The Tribal Chief won’t have to wait much longer. Roman Reigns is looming and when he returns, the island of relevancy is sure to erupt.
