Which main roster star will dazzle the NXT CW Premiere?

WWE NXT is slated to have a new home when it debuts on the CW network next week. The card for the monumental night is already stacked up, which is already making the fans drool. WWE is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the premiere episode.

Many main roster stars like CM Punk, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill have already been confirmed for the special show. Not only that, but a special episode of Miz TV is also scheduled for the October 1st edition of the black and gold brand. It’s a given that the Stamford-based promotion would be keeping some other main-roster wrestlers’ appearance on the night up their sleeves. Which superstars could they be? Let’s take a look at five main roster stars who could appear on NXT’s CW premiere.

5. Sheamus

The rivalry between Sheamus and Pete Dunne has been boiling over for weeks. With the latter scheduled to come up against Trick Williams on NXT’s CW premiere, it makes a whole lot of sense for the Irish performer to show up unannounced.

Dunne has been obsessed with Sheamus and attacked him on the 23rd September edition of Monday Night RAW as well. WWE doesn’t mind its storylines extending onto another brand now and then. The Celtic Warrior would be pissed about the regular beatdowns the Englishman has inflicted upon him. Hence, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he decided to show up on the black and gold brand on October 1st.

4. ‘Big’ Bronson Reed

‘Big’ Bronson Reed has been a man on a mission in the past few weeks. Braun Strowman has largely felt the brunt of his fury. The two colossal competitors are set to face each other in a ‘Last Monster Standing’ match on the September 30th edition of the red brand.

This gives Reed a window of opportunity to appear in the CW premiere of NXT. Granted, the Australian has a giant obstacle awaiting him that’ll probably leave him battered and bruised for days. But a return for Reed to his previous hunting ground could be a walk down memory lane for him as well as his fans.

3. Kevin Owens

Although it feels like a long time ago, before dazzling the main roster, Kevin Owens was a part of the NXT locker room for nine months. It’ll be a treat for the developmental brand’s performers as well as fans if the Canadian does show up in the CW premiere. Apart from making the show even more attractive, this will give the up-and-coming performers a chance to come up and close with a wrestler who was once one of their own.

2. Sami Zayn

Another one of the black and gold brand’s alumni, Sami Zayn was part of the mix in the Orlando-based promotion for more than three years. As one of NXT’s major success stories, it feels like the former Intercontinental champion definitely needs to appear on the premiere episode!

Zayn has come a long way from his NXT days and has emerged as a top name on the main roster. Having him on a special night could really be a momentous occasion for the developmental brand.

1. Gunther

Ever since his debut on the main roster in 2022, there has hardly been any other WWE superstar who has had a meteoric rise quite like Gunther. The World Heavyweight champion’s career trajectory is one that many young campaigners of NXT would aspire to replicate.

What better way, then, to bring the Austrian wrestler back to where it all started? Moreover, WWE could hype up his ongoing rivalry with Sami Zayn on the black and gold brand. This will not only build interest in the stellar feud but also help in boosting the TV ratings for NXT’s debut on CW next week.

The CW premiere of NXT promises to be a star-studded event. With already a plethora of main roster grapplers confirmed for the night, it’ll be interesting to see what other names get added to the list!
