The search continues ahead of Backlash.
Since the announcement of a tag team match against the team of the Miz and Kit Wilson, Danhausen has been in search of a tag partner. On the other hand, WWE has advertised the match using the ‘mystery partner’ phrase.
This tease has spiked interest among fans who have been theorizing as to who the mystery partner might be. Even MyBookie has revealed the odds with CM Punk sitting at the top of the odds board at -200, making him the clear frontrunner.
Behind him is Joe Hendry at +200, positioning him as the closest challenger. The mid-tier odds feature a diverse mix of names, including Mr. Iguana (+300), Jelly Roll (+400), Elton Prince (+450), Carmelo Hayes (+500), Royce Keys (+600), and R-Truth (+800).
While ‘Cola Man Punk’ is a very close friend with Danhausen outside WWE, the two have not interacted on WWE Television, and amid speculations, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has now provided an update on the situation.
Jelly Roll could step in as Danhausen’s tag partner

While noting that he can’t confirm the news, Alvarez noted that speculations within are that the mystery tag team partner for Danhausen is country music star, Jelly Roll. He also noted that Jelly Roll’s inclusion makes more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by the former World Champion CM Punk.
“I can’t confirm this but I am hearing speculation that the mystery partner for Danhausen is, in fact, Jelly Roll, which would make a LOT more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by CM Punk,”
Speaking of Jelly Roll, he has a history with both The Miz and Kit Wilson and has had run-ins with Kit Wilson during his appearance before WrestleMania 42.
In fact, Jelly Roll event battled Kit Wilson in a singles match on SmackDown in March and registered his first win against the man who has waged a war on toxicity. Additionally, Jelly Roll was rumoured to team up with Cody Rhodes to take on Pat McAfee and Randy Orton at Backlash.
However, those plans were likely scrapped as both Jelly Roll and McAfee decided to step away from the storyline after Mania, possibly due to massive fan backlash on celebrity involvement ruining WWE storylines.
That said, it is still unclear who Danhausen’s mystery partner is at Backlas as WWE has succeeded in keeping the angle a secret. Fans will likely have to wait until tonight to find out if Punk, Jelly Roll or someone else is revealed as the msytery partner.
