Seth Rollins got brutally assaulted by Bronson Reed on 8/5 WWE Raw

On the August 05, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins confronted CM Punk and was close from kick-starting a big brawl. Punk was distracted by Drew McIntyre and he went on to chase him all around the arena, to finish the unfinished business. On the other hand, Rollins was brutally assaulted by Bronson Reed. Reed six Tsunamis (Splash) from the top rope, making Rollins cough blood all through the ring mat.

Rollins was escorted by the medical staff and officials backstage. Later on the show, it was reported that he is urged for medical attention following Bronson Reed’s brutal attack. Now a backstage report on Rollins has been released and it reveals his WWE status.

Update on Seth Rollins’ WWE status

Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio reported an update on Seth Rollins’ WWE status. Meltzer said that he has spoken with sources about Seth Rollins and Dakota Kai’s status. From this, he learned that both Rollins’ and Dakota’s angle on Raw was to cover up the legitimate injury to get them back in the best physical conditions. Rollins is reported to have chronic issues, so he will be taking brief time off from WWE TV.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio said,

“Remember on Monday we were talking about Seth and Dakota? It was done for injury reasons…I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries, and I was told they both were. But Seth is not in a bad situation. Rollins is cleared but is still banged up and is trying to get in the best physical condition. His issues are chronic but not at the point to getting flagged. He’s trying to stay ahead of the things so will be taking a little time off.”

Seth Rollins earlier this year suffered multiple knee injuries and was treated with surgeries after WrestleMania 40. Within a quick span of time, Rollins made his return and worked for a match at the Money in the Bank PLE, where Punk & McIntyre cost Rollins’ match.

Rollins refereed the Punk vs McIntyre match at SummerSlam and built his rivalry with Punk further. As most of them are waiting for CM Punk vs Seth Rollins, the time off seems to be disappointing, however it potentially hints that the potential match is being saved for a bigger stage.

The reports also hinted that Rollins is likely to miss the upcoming Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event in Berlin, Germany, however there is no update on when will Rollins make his WWE return.
