The first edition of SNME in 2025 is two weeks away

The first edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in 2025 will take place on January 25 at the Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio, Texas, United States. This will be the second edition of the event since it made a return after 2008 last month.

The December 15 SNME was headlined by Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens where the Undisputed WWE title was on the line. The finale for the Women’s United States Championship also took place between Chelsea Green and Michin.

The then Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan also defended her title against Iyo Sky while Gunther took on Damian Priest and Finn Balor in a triple-threat match where the World Heavyweight title was on the line.

Ahead of the January 25 edition of SNME, let us take a look at four potential clashes that the promotion should book for the event.

4. Tiffany Stratton vs Nia Jax

One of the highlights from the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown in 2025 was Tiffany Stratton cashing in her MITB contract against her friend and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax. Stratton successfully cashed in and landed the prettiest moonsault to pick the win and become the new champion.

This betrayal has obviously not gone well with the former champion who confronted Startton on the last week’s episode. However, the confrontation turned into a brawl when Bayley, Bianca Belair, and Naomi joined in leading to a #1 Contedners fatal 4-way match that was won by Bayley.

Stratton is now set to defend her title against Bayley on this week’s episode of the Blue brand. However, Jax would likely interfere in the match and try to inflict damage on the new champion. This would likely set up a rematch between the two former friends on the upcoming SNME.

3. Karrion Kross vs Uncle Howdy

The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar, Paul Ellering, & Scarlett) and the Wyatt Sicks (Bo Dallas [Uncle Howdy], Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, & Nikki Cross) are involved in a fierce and dreadful feud that has seen the two factions collide multiple times.

Their feud was put on hold for the historic debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The two factions will likely resume their feud on the 01/13 episode of the Red brand.

The feud between the two which is marked by a series of intense confrontations and mind games has seen both factions as well as their members collide in singles competition. The leaders of both factions should challenge each other for a singles match at this month’s SNME.

2. Shinsuke Nakamura vs LA Knight

United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defended his title on the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown against LA Knight. This was a rematch from their first meeting from Survivor Series 2024 PLE where Nakamura defeated Knight to win the US title.

However, the rematch ended in a disqualification due to the interference of Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga who attacked Knight who was very close to pinning the champion. The two stars have an unfished business and Knight is itching to get back the title, the promotion should book a title clash between the two for SNME.

1. Gunther vs Logan Paul

Former US Champion Logan Paul made his return on the Raw Netflix Kick-off event, this was his first WWE appearance since his loss to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024. In his return, Knight joined the Red brand and stated his intention to fight Gunther for the World Heavyweight title.

The Ring General‘ Gunther on the same kick-off event replied to the call out warning Paul of the consequences of facing him. Paul still has not made his in-ring return and what better way to return than to challenge the dominant champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event?
