Last Friday Night on SmackDown, WWE dropped major hints on Uncle Howdy’s potential return. Where they played the “Nightbird” haunting music by Marti Amado, turning off the lights and making the SmackDown logo glitch into a black & white version, like the old television. Following that a blurred pop-up appeared on television during Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill vs Chelsea Green & Piper Niven’s match, saying “You forgot about us”.
On the latest episode of Raw, WWE again teased the QR code glitches during The New Day’s entrance during the #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Tag Team Match. The glitch featured a couple of symbols and a QR code. The QR Code led to a website that has an image and a video saying, “Time to wake up. Take my hand. Things will be better. Trust me.” The Video also flashed the same symbols that glinched.
As the WWE Universe were wondering what the hidden messages mean and lead to, a former WWE star teased involvement in the Uncle Howdy return angle.
Matt Hardy teases involvement in the Uncle Howdy return angle
Following the glitches and cryptic text on Raw, Matt Hardy posted the video on his Instagram story and retweeted it on X (fka Twitter). Hardy’s actions stirred up the speculation suggesting that he might somehow be involved in the Uncle Howdy return angle.
It is notable that Matt Hardy was a friend of Bray Wyatt and would have teased due to early connection to the Wyatt Family. It is reported that Hardy’s current contract with AEW is nearing to end and he is open to fetch new deals in the free agency.
Matt previously was in attendance during a Raw in North Carolina on the road to WrestleMania 40. However he claimed that it was Matt Hardy’s hometown and their appearance was casual, as a part of his wife’s hang out with her friends.
All these hints are complex speculations, however it is important to note that Matt Hardy was previously involved in a storyline with Wyatt & the wrestlers related to Wyatt Family storylines are hinting at their return. Previously, the backstage reports suggested Eric Rowan’s WWE return, which took him away from his scheduled appearances on ECPW.
Since nothing is confirmed yet, we need to wait until there is official information from the company or further tease of involvement.
