Matt Riddle claims multiple WWE talents have issues with CM Punk

Matt Riddle is not a fan of The Second City Saint!
During an interview with Going Ringside, former WWE Star Matt Riddle dropped a bombshell, claiming that multiple talents that he is in touch with have claimed that CM Punk is difficult to work with. Riddle also discussed a potential AEW run during the conversation.
Riddle is currently signed to Major League Wrestling (MLW) and is the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion in his first reign.
When asked if he would consider joining AEW, Riddle expressed interest in working for the company but acknowledged that AEW may be hesitant to sign former WWE talent.
“Yeah I would totally work for AEW. I feel like, when they first started they hired a lot of former WWE guys and I think that left a bad taste the mouth because other than Moxley and maybe another couple really didn’t work out to well.
Most of them just got fat checks and didn’t do much, so that is why I don’t think they want to deal with, I think that is why they are using more homegrown talent.”
When the issues between CM Punk and AEW were brought up, Riddle had a few harsh words for the Second City Saint, claiming that he is tough to work with.
“Went belly up and cost the fans money and everything else, They’re still rebuilding. You know, I’m not a big fan of that guy either. That guy sucks. He’s a b*tch to work with in the back.”
Riddle continued when asked to explain, stating that Punk complains about getting multiple world title reigns and revealed that there are multiple talents in the WWE with whom he is still in touch, who have stated that he’s ”a headche.”
“Because he just belly aches and complains. This guy complains about getting multiple world title runs. I’ve heard from my boys that still work there (WWE) that he is a headache, and this isn’t a storyline, this is the facts. So, this is what it is.”
Riddle was released from WWE in September 2023, reportedly due to wasting multiple chances with the Stamford-based promotion.
Prior to his exit, he was in a tag team with Randy Orton, dubbed the “RK-Bro.” Together, the two stars captured the World Tag Team title twice. Riddle has also captured the United States title and the NXT Tag titles with Pete Dunne one during his run with the promotion.
Matt Riddle defeated Satoshi Kojima in January to kick off his first MLW World Heavyweight Championship reign. He also holds the CCW Tag Team titles and the BRCW Tag Team titles (with Stallion Rogers as The Wild Stallions) as well as the WSW Australian title.
