WWE failed to capitalize on the US title reign of the internet sensation, Logan Paul.

Logan Paul came into WWE as a top internet sensation, and in only two years, competed against the likes of main event talents like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Furthermore, The Maverick defeated Rey Mysterio at last year’s WWE Crown Jewel event to win his first championship, the WWE United States Championship.

However, what was envisioned to be a monumental reign turned out to be unappealing and heavily criticized by WWE. Here are the four mistakes WWE made during Logan Paul’s US title reign:

4. Part-Time Champion

Despite WWE deciding to put the United States Championship, Logan Paul was always showcased as a part-time attraction, considering his outside WWE commitments and being a megastar all over the world. However, transitioning into an era of full-time champions since WrestleMania 40, WWE Universe bluntly rejected Paul for being a part-time champion who made very limited appearances.

3. Only two defenses in Lengthy Title Reign

WWE Universe had been wholly flabbergasted by witnessing Logan Paul’s in-ring prowess despite coming without any formal wrestling training. After winning the US title from Rey Mysterio in 2023, fans expected to see that in-ring talent more often. However, WWE only scheduled two title defenses during Logan Paul’s 250+day reign as champion, failing to prove his credibility as a champion in the global juggernaut.

2. No new stars made with his star power

Logan Paul’s star power and fame are undoubtedly greater than that of many WWE superstars on the main roster today. WWE could have used this opportunity to build new stars at the expense of The Maverick’s championship reign with top-tier showdowns in the ring. However, with only two matches and no relevant feuds, WWE failed to push emerging stars.

However, they are finally doing it now with LA Knight after scheduling him for a United States title match against Logan Paul at their upcoming Premium Live Event, WWE SummerSlam.

1. Lineage of the US title not elevated

The history and rich lineage of the WWE United States Championship make it one of the most credible titles in sports entertainment. It has been held by legendary names and Hall of Famers over the years, who have taken the prestige of the championship to a different level. However, it can be said that WWE’s booking of Logan Paul as champion has seemingly downgraded the championship today, making it an afterthought, while Paul himself has not done much promotion of himself as the US champion outside WWE.
