Montez Ford has recently stated his frustration with the WWE
The former three-time WWE tag team Champions, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins (Street Profits) have been very vocal in recent times about their annoyance with the creative team.
The Street Profits have been critical of their current career trajectory in the Stamford-based promotion in recent media appearances and interviews.
Ford and Dawkins have expressed their frustration over not having a real opportunity for the tag team championships for an extended period. Recently, their appearances on WWE programming have been limited.
These comments sparked speculation about their departure from the Stamford-based promotion. However, recent reports indicate that the faction will remain for the foreseeable future.
Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins are locked into deals with WWE
According to recent reports from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the Street Profits are locked in deals with the Stamford-based promotion and they have no plans to walk away.
The reports further point out that the comments were made likely to garner attention on social media, which might have worked considering the effect.
Apart from his WWE duties, Ford is working on some other ventures with Paradigm, a company that is associated with MMA megastar Conor McGregor.
The Street Profits last competed against the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) on the 11/15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. MCMG’s WWE Tag Team Title was on the line for this matchup.
The tag title match however ended in a disqualification as Tomasso Ciampa of the #DIY faction interfered during the match and attacked both the tag teams.
Ciampa also pushed away his stablemate Johnny Gargano who tried to intervene and diffuse the situation. MCMG tried to shake hands with Street Profits and lauded their efforts but Dawkins was not in the mood for ‘sportsmanship’ as he took out Alex Shelley with a cheap shot.
Dawkins and Ford were visibly upset as their title shot opportunity slipped away due to outside interference from Ciampa.
Do you think the WWE should feature the Street Profits more in upcoming storylines? Do you think they deserve another shot at the tag titles? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comment section.
