Oba Femi warns The Rock of consequences for stealing his spotlight
In a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, the newly crowned champion, Femi commented on Johnson closing out the Tuesday night special show. Femi stated Johnson was “stealing the moment” from him and he wasn’t even aware of it at that time.
Femi added that he’ll let it slide this time, but if it happens again, there will be consequences. The new champion was irked that the Championship match did not close out the show.
“At the moment the time was being stolen from me, I wasn’t even aware it was being stolen from me. Maybe if I knew, I would have gone up to him and been like, ‘Hey, Uncle Dwayne, what are you doing?’ I’ll let it slide this time, but next time Uncle Dwayne comes in and steals time from me, there are going to be problems.” Femi said
Johnson closed the 2025 edition of the New Year’s Evil where he cut a promo lauding the fans for supporting and cheering the rising talents. He also showered praise on Unisdputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for carrying the company on his shoulders.
Johnson also talked about his conversation with the General Manager of NXT and his daughter Ava, who told him he’d feel the energy difference between NXT and RAW and stressed the importance of the fans’ energy for the wrestlers to perform.
On the other hand, Femi now has a target on his back as the NXT Champion. With the title in his possession, everyone will be gunning for him, gazing for a chance to take it away.
