Odyssey Jones recently got removed from WWE’s internal roster!

Odyssey Jones is one of the heaviest WWE superstars, who has been in WWE since 2018. The mighty wrestler had several dark matches and had a brief time in NXT.

He was the runner-up of the 2021 NXT breakout tournament. He got drafted to the main roster in 2023 but didn’t appear on WWE TV. He again got drafted to the Raw brand, and finally made his debut last week on Raw.

Jones made his WWE debut weeks ago aligning himself with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods and was involved in a feud with The Final Testament and secured back-to-back wins two weeks in a row. However, he didn’t appear on the last two weeks’ episode of WWE Raw and was nowhere seen in the WWE internal roster. However backstage reports reveal a major update on his WWE status.

Odyssey Jones WWE status update

Dave Meltzer on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter discussed the WWE status of Odyssey Jones after being removed from the internal rosters. Meltzer said that he has heard from the source within WWE whether the removal of Jones was a glitch, however, he learned that he is one, but yet to confirm. However, he believes that he is no longer with WWE.

Dave Meltzer said,

“I’ve asked around, and if it had been any kind of a glitch or something I think by now it would have been corrected, or we’d have heard it’s a glitch. I’m relatively certain he’s done, but it has not been confirmed anywhere. I’ve heard a bunch of stories, but nothing that I would say is confirmed but it looks like he’s no longer with the company.

Meltzer says that Jones leaving the company could be true as he never got mentioned in the recent tapings from the company and Kofi also didn’t address him on the show.

Meltzer said that he came for a push, but he has no idea why he was taken out, as he had a great reception in his few appearances. He believes that his release story will be released too soon and will clear the rumors.

Meltzer said,

“Obviously he was in for a push. It had nothing to do with how he was getting over, because he was doing really well. But there’s obviously a story that is probably going to come out in the next day or so I would guess. I don’t know. I mean, there’s certainly a lot of rumors around I’ll say that, but there’s nothing that I can confirm at this point in time.”
