Nia Jax defeated Bayley at WWE SummerSlam to capture her second Women’s Championship.
Nia Jax’s road back to the top of the WWE mountain began at WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE. The Irresistible Force outlasted multiple superstars and Lyra Valkyria in the finals to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament and earn a championship opportunity at SummerSlam.
She went head to head against Bayley, and thanks to a timely distraction from her Princess, Tiffany Stratton, Jax was able to put Bayley down and win the WWE Women’s Championship. With Nia Jax now reigning at the top of the SmackDown women’s division, here are the top five contenders who can challenge her for the title:
5. Michin
Amidst Nia Jax’s feud with Bayley, she had multiple encounters with Michin backstage, and the duo even had an in-ring showdown on SmackDown a few weeks prior. Now that Nia Jax is the WWE Women’s Champion, the fans can see a re-run of this rivalry. Michin could once again set her sights on Jax, and it could lead to a title showdown between the two formidable rivals, producing another stellar match.
4. Naomi
Naomi has been eyeing the WWE Women’s Championship ever since she made her return to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble event. In her quest to win the title, she could find herself challenging Nia Jax for the title. Of course, both women belong to the prestigious Anoa’i Family and are related to each other. With their family ties, a showdown of athleticism and power and the Women’s Championship hanging in the balance, Naomi and Nia could produce a stellar showdown.
3. Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill made a huge impression on her first night in WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble event. It was in the name-sake battle Royal that Cargill tossed Jax to the mat, showing her incredible power and strength. Months later, Cargill has already won a championship and become a force to be reckoned with. With The Storm slowly gaining momentum as a top-tier WWE superstar, the fans could witness her go after Nia Jax once again for her title.
2. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair has been absent from WWE TV due to her knee injury last year. However, The Queen is closing in on her return to the ring, as seen on her social media during her training sessions. So it can be expected that Flair will go right after the WWE Women’s title, setting the stage for a match against Nia Jax in the future.
1. Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton currently is an ally of Nia Jax, but the WWE Universe is well aware of her desire to be at the top. With the Money in the Bank contract in her grasp, Stratton could find the right moment to cash in on Jax at a vulnerable moment and challenge her for the WWE Women’s Championship, possibly slithering the title away from her with her golden opportunity and putting an end to their alliance.
