Dayton, Ohio, will host the Backlash go-home show of SmackDown tonight!
Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown will emanate live from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is set to make an appearance tonight ahead of his first title defense at Backlash.
Furthermore, the show will feature segments and matches which will be used to build towards Backlash 2025, which will emanate on May 10 from St. Louis. Ahead of tonight’s show in Dayton, let us take a look at the top four potential endings for tonight’s show of Friday Night SmackDown.
4. Naomi attacks again
Nia Jax and Jade Cargill are set to battle in a number one contender’s match for the WWE Women’s Championship. The winner will be next in line to challenge the current Champion, Tiffany Stratton.
However, the likelihood of Naomi spoiling the match for Cargill is a huge possibility, she’s also mentioned via X that she might lean into the ‘nepotism favor’ something the fans have accused her of time and time again.

3. Piper Niven reaffirms their allegiance
Since losing the Women’s United States Title, Chelsea Green has been struggling. While Piper Niven earned the opportunity to challenge the current champion, Zelina Vega, for a future title shot, it left Green frustrated, as she was hoping for a rematch herself. Niven reaffirms her allegiance and cheer up, Green might ambush Vega tonight with Alba Fyre.
2. Fatal four-way ends in chaos
Ahead of their clash in a fatal four-way US title match, including Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, Damian Priest, and United States Champion Jacob Fatu, they will engage in a tag team match.
Solo Sikoa will team up with Fatu to battle the team of Knight and Priest. While the match will already be a chaotic affair, especially with Fatu’s presence, McIntyre’s interference during the match might be used to build up hype for the clash.
1. The Champion hits back
John Cena is scheduled for an appearance ahead of his first title defense against Randy Orton. The two stars will meet inside the ring after a long time, and tensions are at an all-time high. Especially since the humiliation that Cena faced as he was RKOed by Orton after a failed cheap shot attempt. The Champion will likely attack Orton again, trying to get the upper hand ahead of the match.
