WWE’s potential plans for Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2024

Seth Rollins is a prime fixture for the Monday Night RAW roster
Seth Rollins has proven himself to be one of the most remarkable in-ring competitors at the top of the heap in WWE today. From being the conniving Architect of the Shield to rising as a solo main-eventer donning multiple gimmicks such as the Undisputed Future of the Authority, Monday Night Messiah, and now being The Visionary of the promotion, Rollins has done it all.
Furthermore, Rollins carried the Monday Night RAW on his back for an entire year as the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion. After proving his credibility as a top title holder, Seth Rollins dropped the championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40. He went on hiatus for several months to deal with his injuries.
However, The Visionary resurfaced back to the WWE a few weeks ago and was immediately inserted back into the World Heavyweight Championship picture. At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event, he faced the reigning champion, Damian Priest. Still, due to an impromptu briefcase cash-in by Drew McIntyre and interference from CM Punk following that, Rollins was denied the opportunity to become champion again.
WWE SummerSlam next stop for Seth Rollins
As per the Gentlemen’s agreement made by both Rollins and Priest for the match, he is no longer eligible to challenge for the World Championship as long as Damian Priest is the champion. This now leaves Seth Rollins without a clear direction for the Biggest Party of the Summer coming up next month, i.e. WWE SummerSlam.
However, being a top-tier talent, it is expected that Rollins would be involved in WWE’s Big Four event. Looking at recent events and reports that surfaced, Seth Rollins could be inserted as part of the CM Punk Drew McIntyre, should Punk be cleared for in-ring action. This could set up a huge triple-threat match between them with some high stakes involved.
Apart from that, much like his road to WrestleMania 38, he could be facing a mystery opponent for SummerSlam. His opponent, the man who has not been seen around for a while, heavily speculated to return at SummerSlam and whom Rollins cost his title at WrestleMania 40, Roman Reigns, setting up a blockbuster showdown between the former Shield brothers.
