At WrestleMania 40, The Rock & Roman Reigns will be teaming up to face Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in a tag team main event match on Night 1. The match will predict the rules for the WrestleMania 40- Night 2 main event.
If The Rock & Roman Reigns won the match, the night 2 main event match between Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be free from the Bloodline. On the other hand, if The Rock & Roman Reigns won the match, it would be the Bloodline rules match. With just weeks away from the big event, Dave Meltzer predicts their night 1 and night 2 main events.
The Rock’s involvement in the WrestleMania 40 Main Event
Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that The Rock & Roman Reigns will be winning the Night One Tag Team Match at Night 1 of WrestleMania 40. This will make Rock to be at the ringside to prevent Rhodes from winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However Cody will overcome all the odds.
Dave Metlzer reported,
”This sure sounded like Rock & Reigns are winning Night One (heavily favoured) and Rock will be at ringside trying to keep Rhodes from winning the next day but Rhodes overcoming all the odds.”
The Rock & Roman Reigns winning the night 1 main event is the most likely scenario, as the betting odds, rumors and reports suggest so. Rock has previously teased what could potentially happen if the night 2 match goes under Bloodline rules. Rock also promised that he will do anything to end Cody Rhodes’ story and make sure he will not walk out of WrestleMania with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
The Rock on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, has already teased that he is a man of his words, by brutally assaulting Cody Rhodes, by bursting his head open and painting the weight belt with Cody’s blood, as promised to Cody’s mom. Ahead of their match, on the WrestleMania 40 go-home episode of Raw, The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins are being advertised to set the final heat.
