2026 might just see more than one retirement take place in professional wrestling.
In 2025, two WWE legends, Goldberg and John Cena, took their final bow and retired from in-ring competition. The same will happen to AJ Styles in 2026, who has already announced his retirement later this year.
However, The Phenomenal One might just not be the only one hanging up his boots this year. So, here is a look at six pro wrestlers who might retire in 2026.
6. Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been with WWE since 2002 and is currently the most tenured member of the active roster. While The Viper is going strong, it is no secret that he has faced major setbacks due to injuries over the years. So there is a possibility that Orton might call it quits, a year after his iconic rival, John Cena, did the same.
5. Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston joined WWE in 2007 and has experienced major runs in the company, both as a singles and tag team performer.
In doing so, he has won multiple titles, accolades, and carved out a Hall of Fame-worthy resume. So, 2026 might see the end of his career, which has been remarkable in its own right.
4. Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega is one of the most talented and renowned names in professional wrestling. While he is currently an integral part of AEW, The Cleaner has not been the same since recovering from Diverticulitis in 2024.
Realising that he is now a shell of his former self, Omega might decide to retire in 2026, which would be a huge loss to the wrestling industry.
3. Natalya

Natalya has been one of the most tenured and regarded in-ring performers in WWE since 2008. She has battled stars of various generations, won titles, and displayed her incredible in-ring acumen over the years.
With Nattie busy with her outside schedule, she could have one final run in WWE in 2026 and hang up her boots after over a decade of being in the ring.
2. Edge

There is growing belief that Edge, now competing as Adam Copeland, is nearing the final phase of his in-ring career after joining All Elite Wrestling. Copeland has emphasized managing his body and prioritizing meaningful matches over longevity.
Given his extensive injury history, particularly his neck issues, and having achieved everything possible across two major companies, 2026 appears to be a natural and realistic window for him to retire on his own terms.
1. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is still very much dominant and dangerous in the ring as he has been over the years. However, there have been reports that Lesnar is set to retire from the ring this year.
Moreover, it also added that Lesnar’s retirement could happen at SummerSlam 2026, taking place in his hometown of Minnesota, which would be a perfect end to the Beast’s career.
Did AJ Styles confirm his retirement?
Yes, he announced at the 2025 WWE Crown Jewel PLE.
When and where will WrestleMania 42 take place?
The 42nd edition of WrestleMania is set to emanate live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will take place over two nights, April 18 (Saturday) and April 19 (Sunday), 2026.
