Randy Orton is a 14-time WWE World Champion

Randy Orton a future Hall of Famer, made it obvious this week that he is not a fan of Los Angeles Lakers player and NBA superstar LeBron James.

During an interview on Cody Rhodes‘ What Do You Wanna Talk About? on WWE’s YouTube channel, Orton was not receptive to James being regarded as one of the finest athletes of all time (starting at 37:28).

Rhodes noted that pro wrestling, like all other sports, has a GOAT (greatest of all time) discussion, and he referenced the NBA debate between LeBron and Michael Jordan as the top of the heap.

After Rhodes mentioned LeBron, Orton reacted with, “F–k LeBron.”

Orton did not elaborate on his statement, so it is unknown whether he is merely a LeBron hater or believes Jordan is the GOAT and should not be compared to others, but James is certainly not his GOAT.

The 44-year-old Orton is one of the most decorated wrestlers in pro wrestling history, with 14 world title reigns, trailing only John Cena and Ric Flair’s 16 world titles.

That might imply that Orton places a high value on championships in the GOAT debate, and if so, it’s easy to understand why he thinks highly of Jordan.

During his successful career with the Chicago Bulls, MJ three-peated as NBA champion twice, capturing six titles in total and reaching the NBA Finals both times.

For instance, LeBron may be the NBA’s all-time top scorer, but he only has four titles and four NBA Finals MVP trophies.

Despite being 39 years old, James is still at the top of his game, having helped Team USA win gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris earlier this month.

Orton is still one of the greatest in the game, and he’ll seek to prove it at Bash in Berlin later this month when he faces Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
