Randy Orton has been part of several high profile matches at Money in the Bank PLE.

Randy Orton is considered a bonafide future WWE Hall of Famer for his spectacular two-decade career in WWE. In that time period, The Viper has been an integral part of some of the most stellar and physically battering matches taken place at the WWE Money in the Bank (MITB) PLE.

With WWE’s Apex Predator set to be a part of a huge 6-man tag team match, tagging alongside Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens to battle The Bloodline this year at the show. Here we take a look at Randy Orton’s performance at the Money in the Bank PLE, including each appearance and his influence on the event.

Money in the Bank 2010

Randy Orton was part of the RAW Money in the Bank ladder match at the inaugural event taking place in 2010. However, the night did not end in his favour as The Miz climbed the ladder to grab the coveted briefcase and interestingly went on to cash it in on Orton himself for the WWE championship months later.

Money in the Bank 2011

The Viper walked into the 2011 edition of Money in the Bank as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion for a title match against Christian. As per the stipulation, Randy Orton caused a disqualification after losing his temperament and dropped the title to Captain Charisma in the third bout of the ongoing rivalry.

Money in the Bank 2013

One of the most highlighting years for Randy Orton regarding the Money in the Bank event was the 2013 edition. WWE’s Apex Predator competed in the multi-man ladder match for RAW and unhooked the briefcase for the first time in his career. A few months later, he would cash in on Daniel Bryan at WWE SummerSlam to become the new WWE Champion.

Money in the Bank 2014

After Daniel Bryan relinquished his WWE World Heavyweight Title, an all-star ladder match was scheduled to crown a new champion. Despite being backed by Triple H and his authority, Randy Orton failed to grab the titles as the match was won by John Cena, who became a 15-time WWE champion that night.

Money in the Bank 2015

Randy Orton entered the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder in 2015, hoping to clinch his second briefcase. But his efforts failed to conquer the quest, as the bout’s ending saw Sheamus emerge as the ultimate victor and holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Money in the Bank 2017

Walking into his hometown of St.Louis, Missouri, Randy Orton looked to regain the WWE championship he lost to Jinder Mahal at the Backlash event. However, the home-field advantage fell short of The Singh Brothers’ numbers game as Orton lost the bout, with Mahal retaining his title.

Money in the Bank 2019

Randy Orton competed for the fourth time in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the 2019 edition. The enthralling match saw a shocking end as Brock Lesnar, who was not even in the match, came down and unhooked the briefcase leading to Orton missing out on the opportunity.
