The two stars are set to battle in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Evolution.

Since her return to WWE in February at the Royal Rumble, Alexa Bliss has been trying to form a friendship with Charlotte Flair, who has been unwilling to form an alliance.

However, Flair seems to have softened her stance as she recently teamed up with Bliss and is now the two are now set to battle in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Evolution. While fans are thrilled to see the two stars team up, wrestling veteran Vince Russo suggests there could be a deeper reason behind the partnership.

WWE is attempting to make Charlotte Flair a baby face

Charlotte Flair also made her return after a long hiatus at the Women’s Royal Rumble and won the match to then challenge WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41. While Flair failed to capture her fifth title, the more concerning issue was the growing heat she was receiving from WWE fans.

Intially, failing to get in good graces, WWE tried another approach turning Flair heel and accepting the boos with open arms. However, as per Russo, the promotion is likely making another attempt for Flair to be a fan favorite.

In a recent episode of BroDown, Vince Russo suggested that WWE is pairing Flair with Bliss in an effort to give fans a reason to start cheering for Flair.

“This is their attempt to make Charlotte Flair babyface by giving her a rub with Alexa Bliss. However, there’s no story here. Alexa Bliss, there has been no explanation of why she’s saddling up Flair.

Give me something man. She’s not trying to really befriend Charlotte. She’s just showing up wherever Charlotte is. Give me something, give me a reason first that so I can understand, wrap my head around it.”

Russo also criticized the promotion, pointing out that there’s no real story or explanation behind Bliss being paired with Flair. He urged WWE to improve the storyline so it’s easier to understand and make sense of for fans.

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss will partake in a fatal four-way match for the Women’s Tag Team titles

The two stars teamed up on the July 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown to compete in a triple-threat match against The Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre) and Michin and B-Fab. While there was visible tension between the two during the match, Flair hugged Bliss after the win, as if holding back her true feelings.

They are now set to compete in the fatal four-way match at Evolution, where Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez are set to defend their Women’s Tag Team titles. The second edition of the all-women’s PLE will emanate live from Atlanta, Georgia, next Sunday.
