Gunther is set to defend his world title against Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin!

Gunther defeated Randy Orton in a controversial way to win the King of the Ring Tournament and rightfully claimed the World Championship match at SummerSlam 2024.

The Ring General faced Damian Priest at SummerSlam for the World Heavyweight Championship and defeated him with the assist from Finn Balor to become the World Champion for the first time in WWE.

The Ring General while having his championship celebration, Randy Orton confronted him recalling what happened on SummerSlam and claimed a rematch, but this time for the world title. Gunther agreed to his challenge and the match was officially confirmed for Bash in Berlin on August 31, 2024, in Berlin, Germany. As the match is less than a week away, here we take a look at some of the potential reasons, why Gunther must win at Bash in Berlin

3. To officially begin the Era of Ring General

Gunther has just won the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest at the 2024 SummerSlam PLE for the very first time. He has just begun his reign and within three weeks, he is set to defend his title against the veteran and the 14-time world champion.

Although The Ring General didn’t have a clear finish with Orton at the King of the Ring tournament finals, he earned the world title by dominating almost half of the roster. At this stage, WWE making the Austrian lose his title this soon, could clearly spoil his momentum and make his hard-earned spot go in vain. To avoid the two years of hard work going in vain and to officially kick start the Era of Ring General, Gunther must win at Bash in Berlin.

2. To make the home crowd proud

Gunther competing in Berlin makes Orton go in a hostile situation, as it is almost his home country. He has wrestled for over 13 years in Germany and is a legend and an idol to several fans there at a very young age. Since the Ring General has the home advantage and the champion’s advantage, losing a match could be horrible for the champ. To make the home crowd proud, Ring General must defeat Randy Orton to retain the world title at Berlin.

1. To make him a legend

Gunther’s very first challenger for the title is the 14-time champ and the promos and the ringside brawl between them prove that the Ring General is nothing less than Orton. As Gunther already claims himself as the living legend of the business, defeating the legendary killer could earn his respect and prove himself why he claims himself as a legend.
