Jey Uso is all set to defend his title against Logan Paul

Jey Uso is riding high after the biggest win of his WWE career. At WrestleMania 41, he achieved what many believed was impossible, he made Gunther tap out on the grandest stage of them all to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

After years of grinding, heartbreak, and faction wars, the “YEET” movement is no longer just a catchphrase, it’s a championship era.

Now, Jey Uso is stepping into his first title defense, and it’s no easy task. He’ll face “The Maverick” Logan Paul at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in two weeks. Paul has made a huge name for himself in WWE, putting on highlight-reel performances and capturing the United States Championship last year.

But while Logan may be flashy, Jey’s story is built on blood, sweat, and sacrifice. Here’s why the YEET Master is destined to retain his title and continue his reign atop the red brand.

3. WWE wouldn’t want to spoil Jey Uso’s momentum

Over the last year, Jey Uso went from tag team specialist to main event player. His journey started as he split himself from Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, proving himself as a singles star, and finally capturing gold. It has been one of the most emotionally resonant in WWE.

The fans have embraced him, the YEET chants are electric, and Jey looks every bit the star he was destined to be. Losing in his very first defense, especially to someone like Logan Paul, could derail that momentum and make his title win feel like a fluke. WWE knows this. They’ve built Jey up carefully, and now is the time to cement him as a legitimate top guy & not tear him down.

2. Logan Paul isn’t ready to be a World Champion yet

There’s no denying Logan Paul’s star power. He brings in the mainstream eyeballs, has shown legit athleticism, and impressed many with his quick progression in the squared circle. But a world title run? That might be a step too far, at least for now.

WWE has always been cautious when putting the top prize on a part-timer or celebrity act. While Logan has become more than just an influencer in wrestling, he’s still not on the road full-time. Giving him the World Heavyweight Championship would send the wrong message, especially when Jey just had a massive moment at WrestleMania. WWE needs to let Jey run with the ball; cutting his reign short for Logan Paul would be a waste of long-term storytelling.

1. WWE already teased Gunther vs Jey Uso II

On the May 12 edition of RAW, Gunther announced he’s invoking his rematch clause. The Ring General wants his title back, and the bout is set for the June 9 episode of RAW. That means Jey Uso has a date with destiny. One more clash with the man he shocked the world by defeating.

A loss to Logan Paul would throw that entire story off course. Fans want to see Jey prove that beating Gunther wasn’t a one-time miracle, and a successful title defense will set the perfect stage for that rematch. Uso vs. Gunther II could be an absolute classic, and WWE knows it.
