WWE RAW will soon start a new beginning
The Rock has confirmed that he will appear on WWE RAW’s Netflix launch. The Final Boss is undoubtedly the most famous moniker in the entertainment world. He has a draw factor that few performers can match, and his arrival will be electrifying, to say the least.
He last wrestled at WrestleMania 40, where he and Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. The following night, he attempted to assist Reigns in retaining the Undisputed WWE Title but was taken out by The Undertaker.
Take a look at the five reasons why The Rock is returning to WWE on RAW’s Netflix debut.
5. WWE RAW’s largest edition will require as many big names as possible.
WWE RAW will debut to a brand-new audience on Monday, January 1, 2025. Netflix will host the show’s debut on the streaming service with high hopes.
The Rock is one of the industry’s most recognizable figures. He was active in the ring less than a year ago, and fans want to see him get rough with a couple more stars before retiring.
Arguably, the greatest episode of RAW of all time will require someone like The Final Boss to appear for a significant part. While many of today’s biggest performers have already been announced for the show, adding The Rock to the mix will make it even more impressive.
4. California is hosting Golden Globes as well
California will host the Netflix debut of RAW at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. California held the Golden Globes 2025 Awards the night before at the Hilton Beverly Hills.
The Rock hosted this year’s Golden Globe Awards, which turned out to be a star-studded affair. The Final Boss may have scheduled the two visits to make his schedule manageable.
He will remain in California and head to Inglewood for RAW’s Netflix launch. His pre-announced presence in the state would have offered WWE a good chance of including him on the brand’s first episode in 2025.
3. Netflix would have wanted the biggest WWE star to appear
The Tribal Combat is slated to take place during RAW’s Netflix launch. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will face off for the Ula Fala and the title of The Tribal Chief.
The Rock recognized Reigns as his Tribal Chief in 2024, and he has the ability to affect the outcome of Monday night’s encounter. That’s not all; Netflix execs may have requested his inclusion on the show.
It will be one of RAW’s most crucial shows ever as the brand transitions to Netflix. The streaming service would like to start well and attract a large audience. That may have prompted their demands for a higher return on their $5 billion investment in WWE’s product.
2. The Rock is required for the Bloodline storyline to move forward
Roman Reigns held the title of “Tribal Chief” for over four years. Solo Sikoa seized the title by force when Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
The narrative between the two men has lasted over half a year, but Roman Reigns has remained the clear favorite among fans. The Rock is the only man capable of truly challenging The OTC for the championship.
The Rock might get involved in the Tribal Combat to assist one of the stars win. Alternatively, he may challenge the contest winner to the Ula Fala.
Roman Reigns has made the Tribal Chief title a significant issue in WWE. It would make sense for Triple H and Netflix to expand the storyline around the Ula Fala in 2025 without including any championships.
1. The Rock could have his WrestleMania 41 match confirmed
WrestleMania 41 will most likely include some major matches that will shock the business to its core. One bout might see The Final Boss return to the squared circle in his trunks for the first time in a year.
The Rock appeared in the show’s final seconds to deliver a message to Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. He might make an appearance on RAW’s Netflix launch, furthering his feud with one of the two stars.
He might appear to challenge The OTC for the Ula Fala or to a match to decide who is the leader of the table. On the other side, he might face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at The Show of Shows.
