Rhea Ripley gets dominant win against Becky Lynch to retain her title at WrestleMania 40
Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley started the WrestleMania 40 Night 1. Lynch made first inside the ring then came the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. After the bell rang both women had a staredown between each other before getting into a scuffle.
From the start of the fight, Rhea Ripley kept trying to overpower Becky Lynch but Lynch kept her calm and fought back. The Women’s World Champion and the challenger fought hard. But most of the time in the fight Rhea Ripley kept overpowering Becky Lynch making it difficult for The Man.
During the match, Lynch got a chance to injure Ripley’s left arm, which gave Lynch a fighting chance. Later, The Man hits Ripley with a tornado DDT which Ripley kicks out in two. Becky continuously keeps attacking the champion but Ripley with a knee on Lynch’s face counters to take back the control.
As, Ripley went for a Riptide, Lynch reverses it to a disarmer but Ripley again overpowered Becky Lynch to reverse the move into a powerbomb. Both women fought hard as the fight continued. Rhea Ripley uses her submission manuver the prison trap but Lynch successfully recovers hitting Mami with a man handle slam but Ripley kicks out of two.
Becky Lynch in disbilief went for a disarmer on Rhe Ripley which Ripley counters to The Riptide from which Lynch again kicks out of two to stay in the match. Then both women kept fighting but most of the time Ripley kept over powering Lynch. As Lynch tried to hit the manhandle slam over the top rope, Ripley counters it with a riptide to turnbuckle and then second riptide to win the match and retain her championship.
