Roman Reigns’ top five best tag team matches in WWE history

Roman Reigns has been a part of some of the most compelling tag team matches in WWE history.

Roman Reigns is regarded as one of the biggest box office attractions for WWE, with his career spanning over a decade. In that time, The OTC has not only etched some of the most legendary bouts to his resume but also great tag team matches.

As the WWE Universe continues to await the return of The Tribal Chief on SmackDown, here is a look back at Roman Reigns’ top five tag team matches in WWE:

5. First tag team title win

One of the most significant tag team matches that Roman Reigns has been involved in was during his early beginnings in The Shield.

At the WWE Extreme Rules 2013, he teamed up with his Shield cohort, Seth Rollins, to compete in a tornado tag team match against Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane). The young upstarts managed to overcome the veteran stars to capture their first title on the main roster, the WWE tag team championships.

4. The Shield vs Evolution (WWE Payback 2014)

The heated feud between The Shield and Evolution saw them collide for the final time in a 6-man tag team match at WWE Payback 2014. The hard-hitting and no-holds-barred contest went all over the arena and saw Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeat Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in what became The Shield’s final time as a team until their one-off reunions in the future.

3. Roman Reigns & Solo Solo vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

After Jimmy and Jey Uso lost the Undisputed WWE tag team titles to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns recruited Solo Sikoa and took matters into his own hands to bring the titles back to the Bloodline.

The two teams squared off at Night of Champions 2023, which also marked Reigns’ 1000 days as Champion, but saw The Usos turning on him and Sikoa to end their association with them.

2. Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens & John Cena

The final SmackDown of 2022 saw Kevin Owens recruit John Cena to battle against Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns.

The action-packed main event was an enthralling match in Reigns’ tag team match records, despite ending up losing the bout when KO pinned Zayn to pick up the win for himself and Cena.

1. Bloodline Civil War

Following the events of WWE Night of Champions 2023, The Usos battled Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in tag team action at WWE Money in the Bank.

The Bloodline Civil War enthralled the fans like no other with the final moments seeing Jey Uso landing the Uso splash on Reigns and pinning him for the win. This marked the first time Reigns was pinned in more than three years.
