Roman Reigns' next WWE appearance after WrestleMania 40 loss: Revealed

Roman Reigns is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, who has been the face of WWE for the last ten years. Roman is highly regarded as the most successful and influential wrestler in the company. The Tribal Chief was the dominant champion with his Universal Championship reign for the past three and a half years.

However his historical reign came to an end at WrestleMania 40 Night 2, when Cody Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After the loss, Roman left the arena with disappointment and was never seen then. At this stage, Roman’s return date has now been revealed, which suggests that he will be on a longer hiatus than expected.

Roman Reigns’ return date

As of Press time, Roman Reigns is advertised for the August 2, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio. This is the last episode of SmackDown, held a day before SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio.

This reveals that Roman Reigns could be available around SummerSlam 2024. However, this is subject to change. Roman could potentially be appearing before that or at SummerSlam.

Previous reports

It is previously reported that Roman will be on a long hiatus from the company for a very long time after his loss at WrestleMania 40, most probably to pursue a career in Hollywood, which was previously reported by Xero News, last year.

Xero News previously reported,

“Roman will stop being a full-time performer after mania. Roman is signed to a talent agency and has a big movie role next year.”

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer previously reported that Roman will be showing up only during the Saudi Arabia Show by May 2024 and during the SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland.

Dave Meltzer reported that,

“I don’t think anyone believes Reigns would retire with a loss and WWE has taught fans not to believe it, but given his schedule, it’s probable he’d take some time off. Given his limited schedule, one wouldn’t even expect him on a show again until the as yet unannounced next Saudi Arabia show (last word being on 5/25) and the 8/3 SummerSlam show in Cleveland.”

All these reports suggest the same about Roman’s SummerSlam 2024 appearance, but the Saudi Arabia show appearance is not revealed for now. Although Roman was not regular to television in the last two years, this long hiatus would make the WWE Universe miss the Tribal Chief.
