CM Punk & Seth Rollins are currently in a heated rivalry

Seth Rollins and CM Punk’s long-anticipated rivalry has been heating up week by week, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW was a spectacle with the two superstars trading words that quickly escalated into an all-out brawl.

The chaos prompted General Manager Adam Pearce to step in and make it official, a singles match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk for the January 6 edition of RAW on Netflix.

While fans are counting down the days to their clash, it looks like we might get some explosive revelations before the match even happens. Jackie Redmond recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Seth Rollins, hinting at a sit-down interview with The Visionary.

She teased that things are about to get “real” between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, with Rollins ready to spill some secrets about his relationship with The Best in the World.

One potential bombshell could connect CM Punk to one of the most infamous moments in WWE history—Rollins’ betrayal of The Shield.

Rollins might try to reveal that he once shared a bond with Punk similar to what he had with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. After Punk abruptly left WWE in January 2014, Rollins felt abandoned, losing trust in friendship and loyalty. According to speculation, this emotional fallout could have influenced Rollins’ decision to betray his Shield brothers in June of that year by aligning with Triple H.

But why is this feud happening now? Reports suggest Seth Rollins vs CM Punk was initially planned to take place at WrestleMania 40. However, plans changed after Punk suffered an injury during the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble, forcing WWE to shelve the match.

Rollins, after his return, was locked in a fierce rivalry with Bronson Reed, which was set to continue through Royal Rumble 2025. Unfortunately, Reed sustained an injury at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, leaving a gap in Rollins’ storyline. This seemingly pushed WWE’s creative team to fast-track the Punk-Rollins saga.
