The former World Champion suffered a gruesome injury in October.
Seth Rollins has been off WWE television since October, when The Vision shockingly betrayed him just months after forming.
While the storyline stunned fans, the real reason for Seth Rollins’ absence was far more serious: a shoulder injury that required surgery and forced the former world champion to step away.
During his time out, Paul Heyman has reshaped Monday nights. Aligning with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, the trio has dominated WWE RAW, even bringing Brock Lesnar back into the fold. Paul Heyman also convinced Drew McIntyre to join their team for Survivor Series: WarGames against Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and The Usos.
Seth Rollins shares injury update and estimated return window

Rollins recently appeared on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer alongside his wife Becky Lynch, where he offered his most direct update yet on his recovery. While he didn’t go into medical details, he spoke honestly about the expected timeline and how he’s using the downtime.
“I get to spend more time with my daughter, which is great. More time at home,” Rollins said.
“Once I get this thing (the brace) off, which is in like another month, then it might be like full… vacation mode for a little while before I like lock in and have to start training to get ready to come back.”
The Visionary added that his return will not be immediate, noting a slow and disciplined ramp-up after the brace is removed.
“Uh gosh, it’ll probably be gradual. I don’t even really know. It’ll be my guess is about 8 to 12 weeks of like, ‘Okay, now I have to stop eating like an a**hole.’”
Will Seth Rollins return in time for WrestleMania 42?
Seth Rollins hinted heavily at the timeline fans should expect, pointing toward early 2025 as the potential starting point for his return training.
“Probably, probably 12 weeks. Plus, we’ll be moving right into Wrestlemania season,” he said.
“I’m hoping like around February after all the holiday stuff, I can start to be like, ‘Okay, lock in. No more BS.’”
He went on to suggest that WWE’s medical guidance places his full return closer to spring.
“Probably after like Super Bowl and stuff, I would say. Like give myself a month before I come back-ish. Maybe don’t even know. You know, they say six months, so this could be April.”
Seth Rollins’ injury followed a storyline leg injury he staged in July at WWE SNME to derail CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship pursuit.
That elaborate deception, later called the “ruse of the century” at SummerSlam, left some fans unsure whether his recent absence was legitimate. This update confirms the shoulder injury is very real.
When does Seth Rollins expect to begin training again?
He hopes to start training seriously around February 2026, after the holidays and the Super Bowl.
What is the full estimated recovery timeline?
Seth Rollins mentioned WWE’s projection of roughly six months, putting a potential return around April.
Was Seth Rollins’ shoulder injury part of a storyline?
No, unlike his staged leg injury earlier in the year, his current shoulder injury required surgery and is completely legitimate.
