Spoiler: WWE Speed Champion crowned after 4/26 SmackDown goes off air

WWE at WrestleMania 40 kick-off officially announced that WWE will launch the WWE Speed matches exclusively on X/Twitter on a weekly basis from Spring 2024. WWE Speed officially debuted on April 3, 2024 and has been broadcasted every Wednesday.

WWE Speed is a high-paced match, where the matches are held with a three-minutes time limit, where every second matters. The match brings fresh & dynamic twists to the classic in-ring competition, where some of the fastest and toughest WWE Superstars from all three brands (Raw, SmackDown & NXT) compete against the time. The WWE Superstars will fight for the ultimate prize to become the WWE Speed Championship.

Ricochet becomes inaugural WWE Speed Champion

WWE has been hosting its first ever WWE Speed Tournament featuring eight fastest and toughest WWE Superstars including Ricochet, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Axiom, Bronson Reed, Cedric Alexander, Johnny Gargano & Anger Garza.

In the first round, Ricochet defeated Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh defeated Axiom, Bronson Reed defeated Cedric Alexander & Johnny Gargano Defeated Angel Garza to advance to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, Ricochet defeated JD McDonagh, which was posted on WWE’s official X page. The second Semi-Finals match of Bronson Reed vs Johnny Gargano was scheduled to be posted on May 1, 2024 on X, however the match was held and got taped. However spoilers reveal that the first ever WWE Speed Champion has been crowned.

It was previously reported that Johnny Gargano defeated Bronson Reed in the Semi-finals of the tournament & Johnny Gargano defeated Bronson Reed to advance to the finals. 

The Inaugural tournament finals was held on April 26, 2024 after SmackDown went off air, where Ricochet fought Johnny Gargano in front of the live crowd, where Ricochet defeated Gargano and became the inaugural WWE Speed Champion. This tournament final tapings is scheduled to be posted on WWE’s official X page on May 8, 2024.

The new Championship seems gold plated, where the WWE logo is placed on the top and the middle of the title is written ‘SPEED’ to represent the title name and the bottom of the title is written ‘Championship’. However, the clear image of the title hasn’t been revealed yet.
