Charlotte Flair beat Asuka to get the advantage

Charlotte Flair secured a crucial victory over Asuka in the WarGames Advantage Match on the pre-taped November 28 episode of SmackDown, giving her team the early-entry edge heading into WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. The advantage is often decisive in WarGames, making Flair’s win the most significant development from the pre-taped go-home show.

The match capped off a chaotic night in which the full women’s WarGames teams were officially confirmed. Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, IYO SKY, and newly revealed fifth member AJ Lee will battle Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, Lash Legend, and Becky Lynch inside the double cage. With Flair delivering the final momentum shift, her team enters Chicago positioned for a tactical upper hand.

The November 21 SmackDown broadcast laid the groundwork for the final lineup when Ripley and Flair shockingly agreed to work together.

Flair walked out with Ripley, Bliss, and SKY, announcing AJ Lee as the missing fifth competitor. However, Lee’s introduction was immediately interrupted when Becky Lynch blindsided her on the entrance ramp, reopening the feud fueled by Lee’s return on the November 17 episode of WWE Raw.

Teams finalized as a brawl erupted on WWE SmackDown

Following Lynch’s attack, the rest of the WarGames competitors stormed the ring. The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend targeted Ripley’s team, sparking a multi-woman brawl that spilled across the ringside area. In the midst of the fight, Lynch formally accepted the invitation to join their team by shaking Asuka’s hand.

This development stems from AJ Lee’s involvement on Raw, where she returned to help Maxxine Dupri dethrone Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The controversial loss left Lynch enraged, and her attack on Lee during SmackDown served as retaliation. With hostilities escalating on both sides, WWE immediately moved to pre-tape the November 28 show to give talent a Thanksgiving break before Survivor Series weekend.

The marquee match of the taping delivered a competitive clash between Flair and Asuka. Their long history made the stakes feel elevated, and Flair ultimately prevailed to secure the WarGames advantage. This positions Ripley’s team to enter with momentumc and potentially dictate the flow once the cage doors close.
