Top five storylines to watch out for on WWE SmackDown (December 13, 2024)

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown will air from the XL Center
The 12/13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is going to be an interesting one. The 12/13 show of the Blue brand will be aired live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. The episode will feature segments building towards Saturday Night Main Event special.
As the Stamford-based promotion gears up for the Friday Night episode of WWE SmackDown, let us take a look at the top five storylines that you need to watch out for on the fallout episode.
5. Women’s U.S. Title Tournament semifinal match
The 12/13 episode of the Blue brand will feature two matches in the semi-finals of the Women’s US title tournament. Michin is set to face off against “Ms. Money in the Bank” Tiffany Stratton for a spot in the Women’s United States Title Tournament Final.
In the second semi-final match Bayley and Chelsea Green will lock horns to fight for a spot in the semi-finals of the inaugural US championship.
The final of the Women’s U.S. Title tournament will take place at Saturday Night Main Event special on December 14. This week, we’ll find out who the finalists are for the inaugural title.

4. MCMG confronts #DIY
On last week’s episode of the Blue brand, #DIY turned heel and defeated Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) to bag the Tag Team titles.
There was a rift between Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano which many believed would lead to the split of #DIY. However, the two flipped the script as Gargano landed a low blow to seal the victory.
On this week’s episode, MCMG might confront #DIY and especially Gargano who was friends with the former tag champions. MCMG might demand a rematch on this week’s episode for the tag title.

3. La Knight vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Former US Champion LA Knight confronted the new US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura on last week’s episode. Knight demanded a rematch as he believed Nakamura won because he cheated. Andrade too came out during the segment.
However, the segment abruptly ended when Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline attacked Knight and Andrade. On this week’s episode, Knight could confront Nakamura again to ask for a rematch probably at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.
2. Transfer Window
On last week’s episode of the Blue brand, ‘transfer window’ was mentioned which led to many speculations, fans were speculating about the effect it would have on the roster.
Gunther and Chad Gable appeared on the Blue brand last week while the promotion mentioned the transfer window. Cody Rhodes also made an appearance on the Red brand this week further signaling a huge roster shakeup.

The Stamford-based promotion will likely disclose their plans for the roster during the transfer window this week. The decision to enable roster changes is intended to generate new matches and balance out the rosters, with some of the bigger stars joining WWE RAW once the show transitions to its new home on Netflix in January.
1. Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is putting his title on the line against Kevin Owens next week at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The two stars will collide for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On the 12/06 episode of the Blue brand, Owens attacked Rhodes after his gruelling match with Chad Gable. A brawl ensued between the two former friends as security tried to get the situation under control. The feud will likely intensify in this week’s episode as the title clash approaches.
The episode will also be used to create hype for the SNME which is scheduled for Saturday, December 14. The event features three title matches along with the finals of the Women’s US title match and a grudge match between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre.
