Tonight’s show of SmackDown features an eight-man tag team match
Tonight’s show of Friday Night SmackDown will serve as the go-home show for the Royal Rumble PLE and will set the stage for the clashes that await fans in the Lucas Oil Stadium.
The 01/31 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will emanate live from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The promotion has announced four matches for the go-home show including an eight-man tag match involving the WWE Tag Team Champions.
Ahead of tonight’s show of the Blue Brand in Indianapolis, let us look at the top five storylines you need to watch out for.
3. Braun Strowman aligns with the Wyatt Sicks
Braun Strowman suffered a humiliating beatdown at the hands of Jacob Fatu at the January 25 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. While the match officially ended in disqualification which meant Strowman won on the cards this wasn’t the case for the spectators who saw an utter beatdown delivered by Fatu as officials begged him to stop.
There is a strong possibility that Strowman might align the Wyatt Sicks and resurrect the dark side to battle Fatu and Tama Tonga. Braun will likely demand a rematch against Fatu to showcase that he is still the top dog of the promotion.

2. Eight-man Tag match
An eight-man tag match has been set for the go-home show where the team of Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) and Los Garzas (Angel & Berto) will battle the WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) and Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince).
The match comes as the Tag champions prepare for the title defense at Royal Rumble PLE against Motor City Machine Guns. Ciampa and Gargano would look to pick up the win while inflicting as much damage as possible on the contenders so that it helps them on Saturday.
1. Royal Rumble build-up
The 01/31 show of SmackDown is the go-home show for the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE and the show will be used to build towards the PLE. More WWE stars will likely announce their participation in the men’s and women’s Rumble match
The show will also build towards the tag team title clash between DIY and MCMG as they meet in the eight-man tag match tonight. Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will likely cut a promo ahead of their title clash in the ladder match.
