Tonight’s SmackDown will emanate from Missouri.
Tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown takes over the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. With less than two weeks remaining for WrestleMania 42, storylines and feuds are further anticipated to reach a boiling point.
For April 3, WWE has announced multiple appearances from major names, including Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, and Jade Cargill, among others.
Ahead of what is poised to be another blockbuster show tonight, let us take a look at the top four storylines that might be in play on tonight’s WWE SmackDown.
4. WrestleMania build

As noted, WrestleMania 42 is now less than two weeks away, and WWE has already announced twelve matches for the two-night spectacle. However, fans are still anticipating more match announcements. Per WrestleVotes, the current plan is for 14 matches, which likely means at least one more match from the Blue brand.
Among the many that WWE can book for Mania, Giulia vs Tiffany Stratton seems like the most plausible one. The two stars can deliver an incredible match and will also etch their name in history as the title has never been defended on a PLE since its inception in December 2024.

3. Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu

During last week’s show, General Manager Nick Aldis announced an unsanctioned match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu for the ‘Grandest Stage.’ The two stars will settle their feud in a match with very high stakes and very low accountability.
However, the match announcement is unlikely to deter the two who are likely going to enagage once again in a brawl tonight in Missouri.
2. Rhea Ripley’s response
For the second week in a row, Jade Cargill, along with B-Fab and Michin, got the better of the exchange with Rhea Ripley, beating down the challenge ahead of their title bout at WrestleMania.
WWE has announced that Rhea Ripley is going to respond to Cargill tonight and fans are now waiting to see if Rhea brings backup or tries to sneak attack Cargill or just take on the three head-on once again.
1. Randy Orton’s mystery caller

Randy Orton, via his X (Twitter) handle, has confirmed that the mystery caller who has been guiding him will finally make their presence known on the Blue brand tonight. The announcement has sent fans into a frenzy, who continue to speculate on the identity of the mystery caller.
On the other hand, Cody Rhodes, who made his return last week, is looking to spoil Orton’s homecoming in Missouri, possibly kicking off another brawl ahead of their Undisputed title clash in Las Vegas.
