Jey Uso won his first WWE singles title 14 years after his main roster debut.
Jey Uso became the epitome of hard work, consistency and perseverance on the September 23 edition of Monday Night RAW when he defeated the Wolf Dog, Bron Breakker and captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship, much to the ovation of the WWE Universe.
However, Jey now has a huge target on his back, and soon later, there will come a time when the reign of YEET will come to its conclusion. Here are the top five choices who can dethrone Jey Uso for the workhorse title:
5. Uncle Howdy
Months ago, Jey Uso acknowledged that the fireflies belonged to Uncle Howdy and his faction, Wyatt Sicks, as part of Bray Wyatt’s legacy. With Jey now the new Intercontinental Champion and Howdy concluding his feud with Chad Gable, his next target can be the YEET man. A past issue reignited, and a solid build-up to a major stage can see Uncle Howdy being elevated to the next level by dethroning Jey Uso for the title.
4. Xavier Woods
For weeks, WWE has been teasing a Xavier Woods heel turn. It could be anytime soon that he betrays Kofi Kingston over his failure to win a singles title, much like Kofi and Big E. Following his heel turn solidified, Woods could go after Jey Uso and possibly defeat him with his newfound mean streak to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
3. Finn Balor
Jey Uso has become the enemy of the new Judgment Day due to his alliance with Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. This could see Finn Balor setting his sights on Jey Uso’s title and could end with Uso losing his title to Balor, ending the reign in quick succession that the fans had been longing to see for a long time.
2. Sami Zayn
While Sami Zayn and Jey Uso are allies, the Intercontinental Championship could throw their friendship outside the window. Zayn, being a former multi-time IC champion, could use his experience to dethrone the YEET man sometime later and become the champion once again, beginning a major feud with Jey Uso for the weeks following that.
1. Bron Breakker
It was a tall task, but Jey Uso overcame the odds by defeating the dominant Bron Breakker to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. However, the embarrassment suffered could fuel his aggression further and a rematch between the two could see Bron regain the workhorse title once again in dominant fashion.
