WWE SmackDown has intriguing surprises this week
The 12/13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will be aired live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. The episode will feature segments building towards the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event which is scheduled for Saturday, December 14.
This week’s episode of the Blue brand will feature two semi-final matches in the Women’s US Title Tournament. Ahead of the show, let’s explore five potential surprises that could be in store for fans.
5. Liv Morgan appears
Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan will likely make an appearance on the Blue brand this week. The promotion last week announced a new transfer window where superstars will be moved across the three brands.
Gunther and Chad Gable appeared on the Blue brand last week while the promotion mentioned the transfer window. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes also made an appearance on the Red brand.
Morgan will likely make an appearance on this week’s episode further teasing a major roster shakeup as Raw’s Netflix debut approaches.

4. LA Knight vs Shinsuke Nakamura at SNME
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated LA Knight at Survivor Series 2024 PLE to win the US title for the third time in his WWE career. Knight demanded a rematch on the last week’s episode of the Blue brand.
However, before the segment could move any further Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline attacked Knight and Andrade who appeared during the segment. In this week’s episode, Knight will likely push for a rematch against Nakamura for the title.
There is a possibility of the promotion booking the two stars for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event with the US title on the line.

3. Tiffany Stratton & Bayley advances
On this week’s episode, Michin is set to face off against “Ms. Money in the Bank” Tiffany Stratton for a spot in the Women’s United States Title Tournament Final.
On the other hand, Bayley will face Chelsea Green for a spot in the finals. Bayley and Stratton will likely win their respective semi-final match which would set up a clash between the two at SNME in Uniondale, New York.
2. Bianca Belair finds Jade Cargill’s attacker
Bianca Belair’s tag partner and one-half of the Women’s tag team champion Jade Cargill was brutally assaulted last month before the Survivor Series PLE.
Cargill suffered severe injuries due to the attack and is out of action for an undisclosed amount of time. Until now Belair was busy in the Women’s WarGames match and the fallout from the final PLE. She will likely start looking for the assailant who attacked Cargill in this week’s episode.
1. Kevin Owens attacks again
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes locked horns with Chad Gable on the last week’s episode. The two had a grueling match where Rhodes injured his left ankle. However, he still picked up the win against Gable in the main event last week.
After the match, Owens appeared and attacked Rhodes leading to an all-out brawl. The two stars will lock horns this Saturday at SNME with the Undisputed title on the line. Owens will likely attack Cody again on this week’s episode of the Blue brand.
Kevin is likely to target Rhodes’ injured ankle leading up to their match in Uniondale this Saturday, aiming to weaken the champion before their showdown.
