The 9/20 episode of WWE SmackDown could be filled with a lot of surprises!

WWE is all set to host the September 20, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown live from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, United States. With just two weeks away from Bad Blood 2024 PLE, the show is expected to be filled with huge expectations.

WWE also booked some of the interesting matches and segments for the show. Ahead of this week’s show, here we take a look at the top five surprises that could be in store for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

5. Andrade dethrones LA Knight

Andrade will be challenging LA Knight for the United States Championship on this week’s SmackDown. Both are two of the biggest babyfaces and are equally competitive. Although Andrade holds the Speed title, this is his first big championship match on WWE TV. A loss could negatively impact both their current push. At this stage, Andrade dethroning Knight to end his US title reign could be a surprise for a number of WWE fans.

4. Naomi turns on Bayley

Bayley and Naomi are all set to face Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a tag team match this week on SmackDown, where anyone who pins Jax or Stratton will receive a WWE Women’s Championship at Bad Blood, whereas if Bayley or Naomi got pinned, the loser will leave SmackDown.

This puts pressure on both Naomi & Bayley. Both didn’t want to lose the match, on the other hand they can’t sacrifice their title shot for their best friend. At this stage, Naomi could use Bayley to knock their opponents and knock Bayley down to pin and earn a title shot.

3. Paul Heyman & Jimmy Uso returns

Ever since Roman Reigns made his return, he has been handling business all by himself. Despite carrying a big faction on his shoulder, there is no Bloodline member to have his back. At this stage, Paul Heyman could make his return with Jimmy Uso to have the back of Roman to counter the number’s advantage of the new Bloodline. Their return could set the initial stage for a major match at the Survivor Series PLE.

2. Randy Orton & Kevin Owens turn on Cody Rhodes

Almost half of the locker room has been angry with Roman Reigns and the Bloodline for what they have done in the last four years. Some of the worst affected are Randy Orton, Kevin Owens & Cody Rhodes. At this stage Cody signed the contract and is all set to team with Roman to handle Roman’s business with the Bloodline. This could make a disagreement between Cody, Randy & Kevin, which could result in Orton & Owens turning on Rhodes.

1. Roman Reigns  could add big stipulations for Bad Blood

Roman Reigns could add more stipulation to the tag team match asking Solo Sikoa to put his Ula Fala on the line. At the same time Solo could ask Cody Rhodes to put his Undisputed WWE title on the line in return. Cody Rhodes could be involved in an argument saying this will be the last title shot and they could finally agree to have a winner takes all match. This could add more stakes to the match, as everyone’s desire could be fulfilled in a single match.
