WWE will look to build for Elimination Chamber 2025
The Royal Rumble 2025 delivered an unforgettable night, featuring thrilling title matches and the signature Rumble bouts, kicking off the Road to WrestleMania.
Now, the journey continues as WWE builds toward the Elimination Chamber PLE. WWE SmackDown, coming live from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, is set to address all the fallout from the Rumble while keeping fans on their toes. Here are four surprises we might see:
4. Street Profits go rogue
The Street Profits’ return at the Royal Rumble was explosive and controversial. During DIY’s Two-Out-of-Three Falls Tag Team Title match against the Motor City Machine Guns, the Profits interfered, using Angelo Dawkins’ crutch to take out the Guns and cost them the match.
But they weren’t done. After DIY celebrated their victory, Montez Ford and Dawkins launched a brutal assault, laying out the champions with crutches and holding the titles aloft. On SmackDown, the Profits could continue their rogue behavior, sending a clear message to the tag division: they’re back, and they’re coming for gold.
3. Charlotte Flair attacks Tiffany Stratton
After her triumphant Royal Rumble win, Charlotte Flair has been making waves on all WWE brands. On Raw, she confronted Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, who demanded Flair challenge her at WrestleMania in what would be their third Grandest Stage clash. However, Flair seems intent on exploring her options, traveling to NXT to meet Giulia, Roxanne Perez and Bayley.
Now, Flair sets her sights on SmackDown Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Don’t be surprised if Flair takes a darker turn this week, delivering a vicious beatdown to Stratton. If a heel turn is on the horizon for Flair, this confrontation could solidify her as the ultimate antagonist heading into WrestleMania season.
2. Solo Sikoa returns
Solo Sikoa’s rise as The Bloodline’s leader once seemed unstoppable. After Roman Reigns stepped away temporarily, Sikoa took over, forming his own faction with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. However, Sikoa’s momentum came to a screeching halt when Reigns returned, reclaimed the Tribal Chief title, and defeated Sikoa in a dramatic Tribal Combat match during WWE Raw’s Netflix premiere.
Since then, Sikoa has been absent, leaving his faction without clear direction. A return to SmackDown could see him reclaim control of his group or begin a new chapter entirely. Whether he rebuilds or seeks revenge on Reigns, Sikoa’s return would bring intrigue back to the blue brand.
1. Randy Orton returns to challenge Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is fresh off a gruelling feud with Kevin Owens, but with Owens now out of the picture, the Undisputed WWE Champion is left without a clear opponent. Enter Randy Orton. The Viper’s return could add a fresh layer of unpredictability to SmackDown.
While Jey Uso is scheduled to meet Rhodes, it seems more likely Jey will focus on Gunther, given their storied history. Orton’s comeback would not only shake things up but also give fans a high-profile rivalry as WrestleMania looms.
