Five teams who can dethrone #DIY as WWE Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 41

DIY have displayed a different side since winning the WWE Tag Team Championships on SmackDown.

The tag team scene has been heating up on SmackDown. The team of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa were at the top of the tag division when they dethroned the Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championships using some underhanded tactics.

Since then, they have been displaying a much more aggressive side while becoming a huge target for the entire tag team division, which could see the end of the title reign at WrestleMania 41. Here are the top five teams who can dethrone them for the titles:

5. The Miz & Carmelo Hayes

The Miz has been having his eyes on young upstart Carmelo Hayes, who had a good start on the main roster in 2024. The duo began teaming up and recently picked up a win over R-Truth and LA Knight on SmackDown. The Miz could use his veteran status to pull strings and insert himself and Melo in the tag team title picture at WrestleMania 41. The duo could join the possible multi-man match and pick up a surprise victory to dethrone DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

4. The Hardy Boyz

The current TNA World Tag Team Champions, Matt and Jeff, The Hardy Boyz, are on their way back to WWE. As part of the company’s long-term deal with TNA, they are set to have a match in WWE NXT. Following that, the Hardy Boyz could make their return to the main roster and insert themselves in the tag team title match picture. This could possibly lead to a Champions vs Champions match at WrestleMania 41, where Matt and Jeff could dethrone them to become dual tag champions.

3. Pretty Deadly

Kit Wilson and Elton Prince have been a captivating tag team since their days in WWE NXT, which even led to a tag title reign there. Moreover, they even defeated the reigning tag team champions, DIY, in a non-title match and were close to dethroning them before The Street Profit interrupted their title match. With Pretty Deadly almost coming close to winning the WWE Tag Team Championships, WrestleMania 41 might be the place where they get the job done.

2. Street Profits

The Street Profits, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins have been showing their aggressive side ever since the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE. They even made their presence felt during the recent WWE Tag Team Championship match between DIY and Pretty Deadly, clearing out the entire field with their attack and dominance. The new side of Street Profits could help them win tag team gold, which they haven’t in years against DIY, possibly at WrestleMania 41.

Motor City Machine Guns have made a huge impact in WWE in a relatively short time and even claimed the WWE Tag Team Championships within months of their debut. They have been chasing the titles ever since DIY used underhanded tactics to win them. The big moment for Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly could finally come at WrestleMania 41: get the titles back from DIY in an explosive tag team title match.
