The Rock just cut a babyface promo at WWE RAW Netflix debut
WWE kicked off a new era in grand fashion on January 6, as Monday Night RAW made its highly anticipated Netflix debut. This landmark episode, held at the state-of-the-art Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, was a spectacle fitting for the occasion and it delivered one of the most memorable moments in recent memory—The Rock’s electrifying return.
The show opened with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H welcoming fans into what he called the “Netflix Era” of WWE programming. The excitement reached a fever pitch when the first Superstar to appear was none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. As Michael Cole and Pat McAfee settled into their commentary duties, the legendary Final Boss walked out to a deafening ovation from the California crowd.
‘The Final Boss’ always a master of the moment, acknowledged the monumental occasion. “Watching WWE has changed so much since I was a kid,” he began, reflecting on the evolution of the company. “To be here tonight for this history-making premiere, in front of the largest arena gate in WWE history, is something truly special.”
After addressing the fans, The Rock took the moment to share a personal gesture. He brought the championship belt gifted to him by Muhammad Ali’s widow, Yolanda, and passed it on to his daughters seated at ringside, symbolizing the significance of family and legacy.
Inside the ring, The Rock delivered a heartfelt promo that perfectly blended nostalgia, gratitude, and acknowledgement. He expressed his admiration for Cody Rhodes, who has been at the forefront of WWE’s resurgence over the past year.
“Cody has carried this company on his back for a year. He has done an amazing job. Cody Rhodes, thank you, brother. One more thing—tell Mama Rhodes that Rock said hello,” The Rock said, evoking cheers from the crowd.
The Rock then turned his attention to Roman Reigns, offering a moment of acknowledgement for his cousin. “Lastly, I want to acknowledge one other man, and that’s my cousin, Roman Reigns.”
Before leaving the arena, The Rock made his way to ringside to hug Cody Rhodes, capping off the segment. Many expected The Final Boss to make the comeback but for now The Rock has cut a babyface promo & it looks like The Rock has something ‘cooking’. But, mostly his promo pointed out that he might be unavailable for for a match at WrestleMania 41.
