‘The Final Boss’ is one of the best gimmicks of The Rock in WWE

The Rock had a full-time run until WrestleMania 40 weekend earlier this year and gave the WWE Universe some of the best moments in history. Rock initially teased a feud with Roman Reigns, while making his return, however he aligned with Roman to feud against Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins on the road to WrestleMania.

Rock performed for the WrestleMania 40 Night 1 match and clinched victory, by pinning the current Undisputed WWE Champion & involved in the Night 2 main event against Cody. During the run, he adopted the ‘Final Boss’ gimmick, as he was one of the board members of the TKO group. Here are the top five best Final Boss moments of The Rock in WWE.

5. Pinning Cody Rhodes

At WrestleMania 40 Night 1, The Rock and Roman Reigns of The Bloodline faced Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in a tag team match, which decided the rules for Cody vs Roman’s Night 2 title match. The match was originally started as a normal tag team match, however, The Rock threatened the referee with firing him and made the match go under anything goes rules.

Rock and Roman brutally assaulted Cody & Seth, making them suffer pain. Rock finally pinned Cody Rhodes to break Cody’s confidence, by making the title match go under Bloodline rules.

4. WrestleMania 40 entrance

At WrestleMania 40 Night 1, “The Final Boss” The Rock made one of the best WWE entrances of all time. Rock had huge variations in the weekly appearances and that set the hype for Rock’s WrestleMania entrance. The titration becomes electrifying with the electricity passing through.

The message “The Final Boss engaged” played & the entrance ramp was lit on fire in the shape of ‘Brahma Bull’. The People Champ came out with the People’s Championship on his shoulders, which he received from the ‘Muhammad Ali’ family at the Hall of Fame Ceremony. Making it one of the coolest moments of The Final Boss.

3. Whipping WrestleMania 40 opponents on Raw

On the April 1, 2024, episode of Raw, Seth Rollins faced Solo Sikoa in the main event of the show, where Jimmy Uso interfered during the match to help Solo. Jey tried to take Jimmy backstage, but The Rock threw Jey away to make one of the coolest entrances. Rock tried to attack Rollins, but he smiled hinting at Cody’s return.

Cody and Rollins tried to attack The Rock, but Roman Reigns came out of nowhere and turned the game. Rock introduced a weight belt and both brutally punished their opponents, by whipping them with the weight belt, with a brutal swing.

2. The Rock Live in-ring concert

On the March 15, 2024, episode of SmackDown, The Final Boss hosted a live in-ring concert in Memphis. Rock sang the song addressing his WrestleMania opponents Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Cody Cry babies and what he was gonna do to them at WrestleMania.

Rock made the concert entertaining and sent a message to Cody’s mom ‘Mama Rhodes’, saying that Cody would be coming home with the belt, but not the Universal title. Instead, he would come home with the weight belt full of blood.

1. Brutal assault on Cody Rhodes

On the March 25, 2024 episode of Raw, Rock made his appearance on Raw confronting Cody Rhodes. The Final Boss whispered in Cody’s ears which made him go freezing. What Rock said Cody became a talking point and the scene was built like Rock was not in the building. In the main event match between Jey Uso & Shinsuke Nakamura, Cody came out to save Jey from Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso. 

Cody took Jimmy & Solo backstage, however The Great One attacked Cody from the back. The Rock brutally assaulted Cody with the weapons and dragged him outside the arena in the rain. Rock tore Cody’s shirt and drove him to the bus bursting his head open. Rock then pulled out his custom-made weight belt written ‘Mama Rhodes’ in it and painted it with Rhodes blood, which he promised to present to Cody’s mom, during his previous appearance on SmackDown.
